Al has set out clear opposition to the proposed use of Frimley Fuel Allotments land for the new Frimley Park Hospital, warning that the plan risks opening the door to the long-term loss of valued local green space. While there is firm support for rebuilding the hospital, there is growing anger that residents are being asked to consider the proposal in isolation, without any clear guarantees about the future of the wider estate.

The charity has offered broad reassurances, but these fall short of the firm commitments residents are demanding. The proposal would fundamentally change Pine Ridge, with the loss of part of the golf course and serious questions about whether the remaining estate can be sustained in its current form. Without transparency about what comes next, many fear this could be the first step towards further development and erosion of land that has served the community for generations.

At the heart of the issue is a lack of clarity. Residents still do not know what is planned for the remaining 80% of the estate, how it will be protected, or whether future development could follow. Public confidence is being undermined by the absence of clear answers and legally meaningful guarantees.

• Publication of a full estate-wide plan, including future uses, maps, and timelines
• Transparent assessment of the impact on the long-term viability of the remaining land and Pine Ridge Golf Club
• A cast-iron guarantee that no further land will be sold, developed or repurposed for major development
• Strong legal protections for woodland, public access, wildlife habitats and biodiversity
• Full transparency on how any proceeds will be used to benefit the local community
